Make, Taste & Take Away at St. Leonard's Youth & Community Centre, Bootle
"I've tried new foods like cous cous and aubergines which are easy to use and tasty. I've really enjoyed coming to the group each week, it's got me out more and we're moving on to do qualifications. I'm cooking more meals from scratch and feeling healthier - it's great."
We delivered Make, Taste and Take Away over three year for St Leonard's Youth and Community Centre in Bootle. We worked to support their community resilience programme across the South Sefton Foodbank network. Each week, we enabled people to make delicious, healthy and nutritious versions of their favourite meals and taking home a bag of fresh ingredients. Through cooking and sharing a meal together families gained skills, confidence and friendship while building community resilience, using food as a social tool in an empowering, friendly environment.
