Between 2007 and 2019 Faiths4Change worked with the Environment Agency in communities in Greater Manchester. This partnership work engaged over 50 organisations and schools in a creative and practical approach to flood risk awareness. This has seen us create a stitched river made from old jeans, applique protest banners and put together a book of illustrated Water Stories that tell how water is important and symbolic in different faiths and traditions. Alongside this, we organised a big Community Action Day in each area, bringing together different faith and community groups to clear tonnes of rubbish and fly tipping from the river.
